While he may be one of the most iconic figures in the history of basketball, LeBron James takes a strikingly low-profile approach when it comes to coaching his sons, Bronny and Bryce Maximus James.

The Los Angeles Lakers star recently ed Steve Nash and Luka Doncic on an episode of Mind the Game, where he pulled back the curtain on how he handles parenting in the realm of competitive youth basketball.

What he revealed offered a rare look at how a legendary athlete deliberately steps aside to let his children carve their own path.

LeBron James and his wife, Savannah, are proud parents of three children: Bronny, Bryce, and their youngest, Zhuri.

With Bronny having played for USC and now entering the NBA Draft process, and Bryce preparing for his next steps toward college ball, both sons have shown a deep commitment to basketball. Zhuri, on the other hand, is forging her own way in volleyball.

Despite being one of the most scrutinized figures in all of sports, LeBron is taking a surprisingly hands-off approach with his sons' coaches and development.

"I've never got involved with my kids' coaches. From Bronny advancing to where he stands now, to Bryce gearing up for Arizona, I've never sat through practice the entire time to monitor how my son was utilized," he explained.

LeBron's parenting philosophy takes center stage

More than just words, LeBron emphasized the philosophy behind his approach: trust in others and ability for his sons.

"I'm never on the phone with the coaches. Listen, coach my son, coach him however you want to. I hope you hold him more able than any other kid here," he continued.

Rather than shielding them or leveraging his influence for preferential treatment, LeBron seems adamant that his sons earn their stripes the same way every other young player must. The statement reflects his belief in merit, discipline, and independence, values that arguably helped shape his own journey from Akron to NBA royalty.
