The WNBA All-Star Game between Team USA and the WNBA All-Star team is scheduled to take place Saturday night to Phoenix.
The event will be a huge occasion for fans as they will get a look at their favourite stars. It's also a big occasion for Erica Wheeler.
The 33-year-old Indiana Fever guard was part of the WNBA All-Star team back in 2019, but she hasn't been a big contributor for the team so far this season.
Despite that, she was chosen to be part of the Skills Challenge this weekend as she looks to put her name back in the headlines.
Wheeler's presence in doubt
Unfortunately, her participation in the challenge is up in the air due to the ongoing Microsoft outage. Wheeler wrote on X that her flight to Phoenix has been delayed, and that she wants $55,000 in flight credit from Delta 360 if she isn't able to make it the All-Star weekend in time.
"Flight DELAYED! Y'all better not cancelled this flight to Phx @Delta I better not miss participating in the WNBA Skill Challenge cause if I DO, I need $55K in flight credit or that Delta 360! Let's talk about cause YAAAA," Wheeler tweeted.
WNBA All-Star Game to be played at Footprint Center
This year's event sees the USA Basketball Women's National Team take on a selection of WNBA All-Stars.
Fans can catch the action live on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT from the Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Mercury.
The event will serve as a send-off for the WNBA players taking part in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and will also feature two days of WNBA-centric activities, including the WNBA 3-Point Contest and the WNBA Skills Challenge on July 19.
It's the second time the All-Star Game will feature the USA Basketball Women's National Team vs. Team WNBA format.
