The acting world is in mourning following the news of the death of Valerie Mahaffey, the American actress known for her role in 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Young Sheldon'. The actress, who was born in Sumatra, Indonesia, has died at the age of 70.
As her publicist Jillian Roscoe, who broke the news to the media, explained, Mahaffey had cancer and died on Friday, May 30, in Los Angeles. She would have turned 71 on Saturday, May 31. The actress, who was in the industry for more than four decades, is survived by her partner, Joseph Kell, and their daughter, Alice Richards. Her husband told Variety magazine: "I have lost the love of my life and America has lost one of its most endearing actresses. She will be missed," he said.
"I really have no words to express it at this time. Cancer sucks. I'll look for you in all the fun moments in life. I know that's where you'll be. I know we'll see each other again someday. I love you infinitely," her daughter, Alice, wrote in a post shared on her Instagram along with a photo of her mother and herself.
