Brad Pitt is regularly in the news for his roles on the big screen; however, in this case, the American has made headlines for an acquisition in Spain that has come to light in recent hours. The actor has bought the 'UFO house', a historic jewel of 20th century prefabricated architecture, known in this way because of its curious shape.
Greek designer Nikolaos Xasteros executed a futuristic house in 1969 and carried out the construction of only eight examples. This one, the one bought by Brad Pitt, was acquired by French restorer and gallery owner Clement Cividino, who kept it in Alt Emporda, Girona.
Cividino's prominence with important Hollywood personalities made Brad Pitt interested in this home. Just a year after the Frenchman acquired it, in late 2024, this UFO house was bought by the American and the news has come to light in recent hours.
Brad Pitt is ionate about collecting unique homes
The name UFO house is no coincidence. This house looks like a flying saucer, as it is 45 square meters, white and oval. The construction material is glass with wooden floors.
The way this prefabricated house has traveled from Girona to California has been by dismantling and distributing it in two containers. The walls were separated into three parts, while the roof was folded in two.
Cividino has said that eight examples were created like the one he recently acquired. "Four of them are broken and disassembled and the other four I bought, the other three I still have to restore," explains the gallery owner.
Likewise, the designer has offered the explanation of Brad Pitt's interest in this prefabricated house. According to the designer, the actor is ionate about collecting prefabricated houses and has a collection of unique examples of this type of structure.
