Harvey Weinstein has broken his silence following Adrien Brody's speech at the 2025 Academy Awards, where the actor gave a heartfelt mention to Weinstein's children with ex-wife Georgina Chapman. Currently serving a lengthy sentence at Rikers Island, Weinstein shared his response through a representative after the ceremony.

Brody, 51, secured his second Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in The Brutalist. While accepting the prestigious honor at the Dolby Theatre, he delivered a six-minute speech-now the longest in Oscars history-where he expressed gratitude to Chapman and her two children, 14-year-old India and 11-year-old Dashiell.

"I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina," Brody said on stage. "She has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth but my sense of value and my values-and her beautiful children, Dash and India."

Brody also revealed the affectionate nickname the children have for him: "'It's been a roller coaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life, and Popsy's coming home a winner.'"

Following Brody's speech, Weinstein issued a response through his representative, acknowledging his children's well-being.

"Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his kids are being loved and cared for as they deserve to be," a spokesperson for Weinstein told The New York Post.

Weinstein, 72, shares India and Dashiell with Chapman, whom he married in 2007. Their relationship ended in 2017 when multiple sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against him, leading to his conviction and imprisonment. Their divorce was finalized in 2021.

Brody's Oscars speech and unexpected moment

Brody's acceptance speech not only set a record for its length but also captivated audiences with his reflections on his career and personal growth.

"This is beyond the pinnacle of a career," Brody stated. "I hope it proves I'm worthy of such meaningful, important, and relevant roles."

He also addressed the unpredictability of success in Hollywood, saying, "No matter where you are in your career and what you've accomplished, it can all go away. And I think what makes this night most special is the awareness of that and the gratitude that I have to still do the work that I love."

After his name was announced as the winner, Brody shared a heartfelt embrace with Chapman before making his way to the stage. The couple, who have been together since 2020, first went public with their relationship at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival.

However, Brody's speech wasn't the only moment that caught the audience's attention. Just before stepping onto the stage, he was seen casually spitting out his gum and tossing it toward Chapman, a spontaneous act that quickly went viral on social media.

With Brody's record-breaking speech and Weinstein's rare public response, the moment added yet another layer to an already eventful Oscars night.
