More than two decades after 'Friends' came to an end after 10 seasons of worldwide success, the atmosphere on set and the relationship between the main protagonists had always been praised by themselves and the rest of those involved in the series. Now, however, a dissenting voice has cast doubt on the good treatment that was experienced on the set.
Stephen Park, a ing actor in the fiction who played a co-worker of Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), is the one who has spoken out against what, in his opinion, happened when filming some scenes and exposes the "bad atmosphere" and a "racial incident".
"At that time there was a toxic atmosphere. James Hong was the actor who was with me in that episode, and the assistant director called him to the set basically saying 'where the hell is the oriental guy? Bring the oriental guy'", Park says on the 'Pod Meets World' podcast.

"Working with the people involved in this series was an extremely painful experience for me. An unsettling lack of generosity of spirit and basic human courtesy, as well as a racial incident on set, have forced me to speak out," he said at the time.
Regarding the racial incident, Park added in the letter his own reflection: "He didn't even have the respect to learn his name. Unfortunately, this attitude is common in Hollywood."
