Shelomi Sanders, the youngest daughter of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders and fitness personality Pilar Sanders, is setting her sights on a basketball breakthrough. While her family name is often synonymous with football greatness, Shelomi is forging her identity on the hardwood.

During a college basketball offseason marked by transfers and workouts, Shelomi's mother shared a powerful image on Instagram of her daughter attacking the basket in a workout session.

The caption read: "MY BEAUTIFUL BABEEEEEEE", a glimpse into the fire and fueling Shelomi's summer grind.

Though her name might not yet ring out like that of her brothers, Shedeur and Shilo, or her Hall of Fame father, Shelomi is quietly chasing the dream of making it to the WNBA. And for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs' newest recruit, that journey begins now.

A fresh start in Huntsville after a tough stint in Boulder

Shelomi began her college career with the Jackson State Tigers but transferred after appearing in just two games. When her father accepted the head coaching job at the University of Colorado, she followed her family to Boulder and ed the Buffaloes women's basketball team.

But with limited minutes and minimal impact, highlighted by a 3-point outing against Air Force and a lone rebound against Oregon, it was clear that Colorado wasn't the ideal fit.

Determined to find the right environment to grow, Shelomi made another leap. In 2024, she transferred to Alabama A&M, committing to head coach Dawn Thornton, who's building a program hungry for elevation. There, Shelomi aims to rise above her previous averages of just 0.6 points and 0.6 rebounds per game.

Though the stats might not jump off the page, Shelomi is approaching this new opportunity with the same relentless focus that's been ingrained in the Sanders household. Her father, Deion, was a first-round NFL Draft pick and a dual-sport star.

Shedeur's draft experience made national headlines this year. Shilo, although undrafted, remains in the pro football conversation. The family knows how to navigate the pressure of proving one's worth in elite sports.

Shelomi now looks to channel that wisdom into a defining collegiate season. The move to Alabama A&M isn't just a change of scenery-it's a reset.
