- Dallas Cowboys. Meet the Cowboys' secret weapon: This rising star could steal the spotlight for Dallas
A new feud is brewing in the long-standing rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants. Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons, known as the "Lion King" of America's Team, issued a stern warning to Big Blue's rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart: "Don't mess with my people."
Since ing the Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft, Parsons has built a reputation for his ferocity on the field. However, it wasn't until 2022 that he fully embraced his "lion mentality"-an unrelenting drive that keeps him hungry for success.
During a t practice with the Chargers that year, Parsons played at full speed despite being tackled. When questioned about his intensity, he responded, "It gives me another chance to hunt."
Even when exhausted, the star linebacker refuses to slow down. "Because it isn't always easy, and you have to learn how to push through when you can't brave it. So I just try to keep that mindset, that lion mentality," said Parsons. Now, he has his sights set on a new target.
How did the Parsons-Dart feud begin?
Jaxson Dart is the Giants' newest addition. Selected as the 25th overall pick in the 2025 draft, the quarterback has quickly become the talk of New York. Amid the "Dartmania" frenzy, NFL insider Dov Kleiman posted a trivia fact that set Parsons off.
Kleiman revealed in a social media post, "Giants star rookie QB Jaxson Dart is a highly skilled huntsman and considers it one of his favorite hobbies." Dart frequently shares photos from his hunting expeditions online, sparking mixed reactions from fans.
Parsons wasted no time responding. Retweeting Kleiman's post, he wrote, "He hurt one of my people," accompanied by a lion emoji and an angry face.
Watch out, Jaxson-Micah's coming for you
The first showdown between Parsons and Dart isn't far off. The Giants will visit the Cowboys in Week 3 of the 2025 season on September 14, with a rematch set for Week 17 on January 4, 2026.
While Dart is currently third on the depth chart behind veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, many analysts predict he'll earn the starting job sooner rather than later. When that happens, the rookie signal-caller may want to tread carefully-because the Lion King is on the hunt.
