The images that are reaching the whole planet from Los Angeles, California, after three days of protests, are leaving many destructions and shocking moments in one of the most well-known cities in the United States.
It all began on Friday, June 6, when at least seven raids were carried out to capture undocumented immigrants by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. This has caused great indignation in much of the city of Los Angeles.
It is worth noting that these raids were positive for the Donald Trump istration, as they managed to capture 44 people who were detained. Because of this, Los Angeles residents have not hesitated to protest, even clashing with police authorities, as there is a large and fully integrated Latino community in the city.
Trump has not hesitated to respond to the protesters and has taken an action that is unprecedented for more than 60 years: activating 2,000 National Guard troops, bying California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Trump on Los Angeles protests: "These lawless riots only strengthen our resolve"
The president of the United States has not remained silent about the protests and the harsh images coming from Los Angeles, and has spoken out through Truth Social: "These lawless riots only strengthen our resolve. I am ordering Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi (...) to take all necessary measures to free Los Angeles from the immigrant invasion and end these immigrant riots."
For his part, the California governor who has been ignored by Trump has told his people "don't give Trump what he wants" and "speak up," but "don't use violence and respect the law enforcement officers who are doing their best to keep the peace."
