The MLB Draft 2023 is underway and the Pittsburgh Pirates made history in December winning the first-pick lottery. Players who have dedicated their whole life to baseball will have their chance to be part of an MLB franchise and make history.

The MLB Draft's Day 1 will include one prospect promotion compensation pick, the Competitive Balance Round A with a total of 10 picks, meanwhile, Round 2 will also have a Competitive Balance Round B, with six picks, and finally the 3 second-round compensation picks which will put an end to the day.

The MLB describes Meyer's playing style " Meyer comes at hitters with a bit of a three-quarters arm slot, showing good, whippy arm action, and while there is a little crossfire in his delivery, he has a good feel for the strike zone.

When asked about the emotion he felt as part of the event, Meyer claims that he's "on the top of the world and can't wait to see what's next!"

The MLB Draft 2023 is finally here! This great event will take place in Seattle Washington while players who have dedicated their whole life to baseball will have their chance to be part of an MLB franchise and make history.

For the third consecutive year, the MLB Draft kicks off the league's All-Star Week, the first round of the draft will happen today Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 7 pm ET in Seattle Washington. This time like other years, the draft will have the presence of fans in the Capital One Play Ball Park in Lumen Field.

Following the first and second rounds of the draft, the All-Star Week will have the highly competitive MLB Home Run Derby on Monday, and then closing the week, the hugely anticipated All-Star Game between the National and American Baseball Leagues.

The MLB Draft's Day 1 will include one prospect promotion compensation pick, the Competitive Balance Round A with a total of 10 picks, meanwhile, Round 2 will also have a Competitive Balance Round B, with six picks, and finally the 3 second-round compensation picks which will put an end to the day.

Draft Order

The Pittsburgh Pirates won their first-ever draft lottery back in December, this will allow them to secure their second top overall pick in three years. Derek Shelton's team will have an opportunity to land the top pick.

The hosts Seattle Mariners will also have some advantage as they own the most picks of the day with four, including the compensation pick after they included Julio Rodriguez on the Opening Day roster back in 2022 and he won the American League Rookie of the Year.
