When discussing the best prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, Travis Hunter topped the list for many. That shouldn't be a surprise considering he won the Heisman Trophy, but his two-way abilities left some wondering what his NFL outlook would be. What the Jacksonville Jaguars are quickly realizing, though, is that Hunter will make insane plays wherever you line him up. It could be at kicker if need be.
The Jaguars shared a clip of Hunter's "sticky coverage" on Tuesday. It was an incredibly acrobatic defensive play by Hunter, who had been working as a wide receiver earlier in camp. Now getting cornerback reps, he's already showing his class. When zoomed in, you can see that Hunter didn't come down with the interception cleanly, but it was still an incredible play overall.
What was perhaps most notable was the reaction of his teammates. They swarmed Hunter following the play and were amped up. They know they have a "unicorn" on the same side as them.
Travis Hunter is participating in Jaguars camp despite being unsigned
As if Hunter making outstanding plays wasn't enough to endear him to his teammates, he's also doing it as the only Top 10 draft pick who's still unsigned.
Hunter could have chosen to sit out of camp until his contract was officially secured, but he wanted to get out there with his fellow teammates and start his NFL journey. Hunter knows how important it is for him to get practice reps, particularly because he will be playing two positions.
